Congressman Robert Garcia is a career educator and former Mayor of Long Beach, currently serving his second term representing Long Beach to Southeast Los Angeles in Congress. Congressman Garcia serves as Ranking Member and top Democrat of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and is a proud member of the Congressional Progressive, Hispanic and Equality Caucuses.
In June, Congressman Garcia was elected by House Democrats to serve as Ranking Member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. As the lead Democrat on the committee, Congressman Garcia is committed to rooting out government corruption, increasing government efficiency, and holding Donald Trump and his Administration accountable for their abuses of power. Congressman Garica was the first House Democratic second-term Member elected to serve as Ranking Member of a committee in over 100 years. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is the main investigative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives.
